Cece's story

Cece is the 6th child out of 11 in her household, and she spends a lot of her time taking care of younger siblings—something she is happy to do. “I love being in a big family. We always encourage one another. We are really each other’s support system. My mother has been so supportive! She’s the one that told me about the new library at Mthunzi and the programs that were being offered. She encouraged me to apply for the DREAMS Scholarship. We were so happy when I heard that I have been selected because my mother was struggling to pay school fees for all us.”

“While growing up, I wanted to be a journalist, but after my sister said she also wanted to be a journalist I changed my mind and wanted to become an accountant. I think the job is very interesting, and I like mathematics.”
